Genetics is sensitive. Here's the short version: We read your raw DNA file only in memory to extract a small set of fitness-related markers, then discard the raw genome immediately — we never store your full DNA. We do not sell your data. You can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how GeneticPT ("GeneticPT," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information

Your email address, an optional display name, and a password (stored only as a salted cryptographic hash — we never store your actual password).

Genetic data

When you upload a raw AncestryDNA or 23andMe data file, we parse it in memory to extract approximately 20 pre-selected fitness- and wellness-related genetic markers.
The raw genome file is discarded immediately after parsing and is never written to disk or stored. We retain only the small set of derived "findings" (e.g., a muscle-fiber-type tendency), not your underlying genome.

Profile and plan information

Details you provide to personalize your plan: goals, training history, body stats, and any injuries or health notes you choose to enter.
The training and nutrition plans generated for you, and any ratings or comments you submit as feedback.

Technical information

A single essential session cookie to keep you logged in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and timestamps) used for security and to operate the Service.

2. How we use your information

To generate and save your personalized training and nutrition plan.
To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
To operate, secure, and improve the Service (including reviewing feedback during our beta).
To communicate with you about your account or the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or share your genetic information. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Service providers who process data for us

We share the minimum data necessary with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

Anthropic (AI provider): to generate the written portions of your plan, we send your derived findings and profile details. We do not send your raw DNA file.
Stripe (payments, when applicable): if and when paid plans are offered, card details are handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Hosting/infrastructure: our application and database run on cloud infrastructure that stores data in encrypted form.

4. Data retention and deletion

Your account, derived findings, saved plans, and feedback are retained until you delete them.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and cascades to your plans and feedback.
Your raw DNA file is never retained (see Section 1).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, an encrypted database volume at rest, salted password hashing, and httpOnly session cookies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise the core of these today by editing or deleting your account, or by contacting us.

EU/UK (GDPR): genetic data is a "special category" of personal data that we process based on your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
California (CCPA/CPRA) and U.S. state genetic-privacy laws: you have rights regarding access and deletion of your personal and genetic information, and we do not sell it.

7. Children

The Service is intended only for adults 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
